Ability to Follow the Instruction

When I was taking an interesting subject called Cross Cultural Understanding, one thing I usually remember is; READ FIRST! One day in a class, Pak Farid, the lecturer of that subject told us that in a country he ever lived. People must read before asking. Furthermore, if it would be so difficult to ask but asking police to give us direction. You may not asking “where is Liverpool?” or “can you tell me where is this?” to people. They would give you such an polite but sharp answer; “I’m sorry, I’m busy”.

So, if you then finally must ask for direction or address, who do you have to ask? Policeman! You may not ask for train or bus schedules also. Because they all are written and precise. And where is that? England.

What about in our godforsaken country Indonesia? Can we do that? Absolutely, NO! No matter that some direction is written, people will still ask. Even Policeman called POLANTAS that should be the best navigator, I’m not sure they can be. Also, the bad and unclear description of direction make reading and following instruction become harder to do.

We cannot complain or judge that the unawareness or unwilling of reading of Indonesia people is a bad habit but call it culture. However, culture usually draw the mindset of its user. It shows how fool or how smart you are. Moreover, those combination I mentioned before make it worse!

So, this nice guy must not be blame for his fool mistake missing the instruction and “how to” text in Kayuhbaimbai Site. He maybe forget, jump to conclusion, or too fool to read and then understand steps ‘how to be a member’ make a fast ineffective reading that cause a very bad inferring. So, maybe I need to laugh for him. Just like in this case when one of my friend was browsing for something that have been written on its starter pack.

“you all must know that I’m also a bad reader. So, Let’s start and help each other to learn how to become a better or even best reader, and practicing our Ability to Follow the Instruction

Budaya kita mungkin memang budaya lisan, bukan tulisan. Sebenarnya tidak masalah ketika hal ini terjadi. Yang jadi masalah adalah cara si Firman mengutarakan protesnya itu, kaya orang yang otaknya di titit…
